A Survival Guide To Selling Your Home

They say that, when it comes to stressful life experiences, selling your home is right up there with the worst stuff – so it comes as no surprise that many people feel a bit battered and bruised by the end of the property marketing process.

However, selling your home is a necessary evil if it’s time for you to move on, move up or downsize, so you’ll need to find a way to retain your sanity until you achieve a sale.

We know how unsettling the property marketing process can be, so we’ve put together a few tips to help you survive until you sell!

Be Ready

Don’t jump the gun – make sure your house is as you want it before you begin property marketing. You may wish to ensure that outstanding jobs are finished, or areas decluttered and dressed before you even approach an agent – this will prevent you from being caught out as the process takes on a life of its own!

Keep Your Home in a Sellable State until Sold

If viewings are few and far between, it can be tempting to let the house get away from you again, but this will pile on additional pressure if someone suddenly wants to see it. Try and get into a routine of keeping spaces spick and span while you attempt to sell – whether you keep it up in your new home, of course, will be totally up to you!

And remember to keep in in pristine condition till the valuation’s been done too.
